Our School

Cozaddale Baptist Academy is a traditional school with grades Kindergarten to 12th. CBA is a church sponsored, private school offering a balanced education of traditional school studies and Biblical principles.

State of Ohio Registration

While we do not seek accreditation by the State of Ohio, we do meet all State requirements and register with the State every year. You will find our school listed as being recognized by the Ohio Board of Education on their Non-Chartered, Non-Tax Supported Schools page. Look for the NCNT School Listings.

PURPOSE OF CBA

Cozaddale Baptist Academy has one purpose, to glorify God. We seek to accomplish this goal by holding to Biblical standards of dress, music and lifestyle. CBA seeks to glorify God by obeying our Biblical charge to teach (Matt. 28:20). The Academy also recognizes that it is the parent's responsibility to train up a child (Pro. 22:6), and it seeks only to be a tool for the parent in accomplishing this goal. CBA also seeks to glorify God by teaching and upholding Baptist doctrine. This is one area that separates CBA from many Christian schools.

Benefits of CBA

Cozaddale Baptist Academy is a unique school in that it is first and foremost a ministry of our church, the Cozaddale Baptist Temple. CBA has never advertised nor sought to become a large school; but rather strives to be a true ministry of our church. Therefore, the school is not a business and is not profit driven. Therefore, the school seeks to fulfill the great commission in "teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..." Therefore, the school holds to the same Biblical standards of the church. Therefore, the students are loved, prayed for, and cared for by the teachers. Therefore, the students are given more attention in a smaller classroom setting. It is the desire of the Cozaddale Baptist Academy to be a help to the parent in training the child in the way he should go.

History of CBA

Cozaddale Baptist Academy was established in September of 1997 under the authortiy of the Cozddale Baptist Temple and the leadership of Dr. Wayne L. Burke. Pastor Travis Burke was brought on staff as the school administrator that year, and continues to fill that position today. Over the past two decades, the Lord has blessed CBA tremendously, with many graduates serving the Lord all over the world. CBA began as a "one room school house" and has grown into a traditional class room environment. CBA uses Abeka Book curriculum for most of our classes.

Extra Curricular Activities

Not only does CBA strive to provide a quality education, but offers to families and students a superb extra-curricular program. Students in grades 3-12 may particpate in sports. The CBA Chargers have a tremendous sports program with our ladies playing volleyball and our young ment playing soccer and basketball. Along with sports, CBA has a yearbook class, field trips, banquets, school plays, and is a member of the BCSO and participates in their Fine Arts Competition.

Articles of Faith

For a complete explanation of what we believe, please see our church website at www.cozaddale.org. Click on the About menu and Articles of Faith.

We believe the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 is the inspired, infallible, and preserved Word of God, preserved for us in the Authorized Version, King James 1611 (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19-21).

We believe in a literal, everlasting, and conscious Heaven and hell (Matthew 25:34,41).

We believe that a person born again, has eternal life and will not perish (I John 5:13-18).

We believe Jesus was born of the virgin Mary and is the Son of God and God the Son (Luke 1:35).

We believe that Salvation is found through Christ alone and not of our works, but by His atoning death and resurrection (John 14:6; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Titus 3:5).

We believe the Lord founded the local church and has given it all authority to share the Gospel, baptize, and teach doctrine and discipleship (Matthew 28-18-20).

We believe in the Genesis account of creation and reject the evolution theory (Genesis 1:1)

We believe the Scriptures teach that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the Gospel (Romans 10:13).

We believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the saints and a Second Coming of our Lord to then rule and reign on the earth (I Thessalonians 3:16-18; Revelation 1:7).
